The Redwood Legacy dining table is formed from one reclaimed slab of old-growth redwood. Live edges, knots, and uninterrupted grain are preserved, retaining the visible record of a tree shaped over centuries.

Working at this scale demands a disciplined pace. Redwood’s soft fibers and variable grain require staged milling and extended rest periods, allowing the slab to acclimate gradually. Design decisions emerge from close observation, following the material’s movement rather than asserting a predetermined geometry.

The slab originates from a reclaimed tree estimated at more than 1,500 years old, sourced from nineteenth-century logging remnants rather than newly harvested growth. Its age is evident in the density of figure. Though their leg designs differ, this table and The Timber Crown were cut from the same monumental log. When viewed together, subtle book-matching discloses their shared source—two distinct works shaped from a single origin.

A modernized trestle base introduces structural order and visual calm.

Hardware is recessed to maintain clean lines, and the table is engineered to disassemble for transport or restricted access while remaining rigid enough to move intact when conditions allow. The surface is finished with a layered protective system that supports durability while maintaining a low, natural luster.

A table that celebrates the natural shape of its origins.
