The Humboldt coffee table draws from Craftsman woodworking traditions with measured references to Asian design. It is built from Northern California coastal species—redwood, Douglas fir, and madrone—woods long tied to the region’s working landscapes and forests.

A tempered glass center panel introduces visual openness. The base is organized around arched stretchers and gently flared legs, informed by both Arts and Crafts furniture and Japanese architectural precedent. Madrone butterfly keys reinforce each corner, serving a dual role as structure and quiet ornament.

The table showcases proportion, joinery and the inherent beauty of the materials.

There are multiple tables of this design, each varying slightly in dimension and figure according to the wood. While individual pieces differ, the form and standard of workmanship remain constant across the series.
