This coffee table is the smaller counterpart within the Ode to Jeffie collection. Its material origin traces to an oak tree that once stood on the property of Jeffie—a lineman, phone-company technician, and the artist’s father. After the tree fell, the wood was milled and set aside for five years, allowed to dry, settle, and mature before being worked.
The table brings together oak, walnut, red Balau, and cherry in a restrained two-tier composition. Both surfaces retain their live edges, while the structure is assembled using traditional joinery without mechanical fasteners. The walnut legs are salvaged from a local power-company tree removal. A hand-rubbed oil–wax finish, sealed beneath a nano topcoat, provides durability while preserving a soft, natural sheen.
The piece reflects a measured approach to making—reuse, patience, and careful assembly—and is intended for long-term daily presence.
