Reclaimed materials, traditional methods, enduring work.

We build high-quality enduring pieces from wood with a story to tell.
History is front and center in our shop.
It can be found in the reclaimed timbers we use, in the traditional craftsman methods we employ, and in our endeavor to turn each piece into an heirloom that will endure generations.

Our work includes custom furniture, artwork, and functional objects for the home - handcrafted with intention, care and the belief that well-made things
should bring enjoyment as well as outlast us.

Guided by the Grain

My journey as a woodworker began in 1977 during a year spent as an exchange student in the Netherlands. It was there, through a demanding curriculum focused on traditional hand tools, that a lifelong passion for the craft was born. Although my path eventually expanded into general building construction, my commitment to fine woodworking never faded. In recent years, I've had the privilege of returning fully to what originally inspired me. Each day in the workshop brings fresh challenges and an opportunity to refine both skill and understanding. It's what first drew me in - and what continues to drive me with every new piece of wood and each project that takes shape. For me, genuine workmanship seeks harmony between beauty and function. Each piece I create is guided by the character of the wood, by the intention behind its making, and by a deep respect for the materials entrusted to me. If you are envisioning a custom piece, I'd love to help bring your idea to life. Dan Johnson
